Abraham Accord: The first Hebrew center to open in the UAE in January

The recent peace agreement between Israel and the UAE has heightened interest in knowledge and education centered on the Hebrew language.

The first Hebrew language center will open in the UAE next year to teach Hebrew lessons, Israeli culture and food to the Emiratis, business people and people living in the Emirates, authorities have confirmed.

The Educational Hebrew Institute (EHI) will launch its classes on January 3, 2021 with branches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This follows a huge demand by Emiratis and UAE companies doing business with Israeli businessmen to learn the Hebrew language, officials said.

The recent peace agreement between Israel and the UAE has heightened interest in knowledge and education centered on the Hebrew language.

Josh Samet, director of EHI, told the Khaleej Times on Sunday that the center would teach not only the Hebrew language, but also facts related to Israeli culture, local food, how to do business with Israel and more. The best Hebrew teachers from Israel will be brought to the UAE to do company training.

“Four branches of education have already been established in Dubai and two are coming to Abu Dhabi soon. Classes in all branches will begin in January, ”said Samet, noting that more entrepreneurs have begun enrolling in Hebrew courses.

Samet noted that the successful opening of these educational institutions throughout the UAE has created favorable conditions, including better business opportunities and increased traffic and tourism in both countries.

EHI was founded in 2020 by teachers united in one vision: to teach students the skills to speak the spoken Hebrew language in a very timely, fun and collaborative way.

EHI promises to bring unique resources to everyone who wishes to learn and share.

Efforts will be made to ensure that everyone has access to flexible classroom schedules (morning, afternoon and afternoon classes), private education (female / male classes and teachers depending on individual needs), popular guest speakers and guests and outstanding teacher selection.

Both English-Hebrew and English-Arabic-Arabic education will be offered in the classroom. In addition, EHI offers mobile education – visiting various settings such as those suitable for office workers, government officials, those in the service and other businesses.
