CANADA NEWS: Canada Covid-19 infection raises the mark of half a million despite vaccination

Canada reported 501,189 confirmed cases on Saturday evening, and the death toll from a deadly respiratory tract rose to 14,154.

While nearly 12,000 Canadians have received the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine, troubles abound across the country as the national number of coronavirus infections now cuts off a bad mark of half a million.

Canada reported 501,189 confirmed cases on Saturday evening, and the death toll from a deadly respiratory tract rose to 14,154.

Recently, the country reported more than 6,500 infections in one day.

The number of people receiving immunizations continues to rise, with the latest figure being 11,909. The first set of inoculation includes high-risk groups, including long-term care home caregivers and health workers.

Canada granted emergency approval for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine earlier this month, but will not immediately follow the United States in granting approval for the Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine, which received a nod from the US drug regulator.

The Moderna vaccine is under review and Health Canada said in a statement, “There is still information and information to be given to Moderna to be tested.”

The organization said, “Health Canada is working hard to give Canadians access to the Covid-19 vaccine as soon as possible and will not compromise its safety, effectiveness and quality standards.”

All provinces now have access to Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

As for the state of the epidemic in the country, state speculation means that it may be that the summit has not yet arrived; and Christmas festivities and gatherings – albeit a lowly one this year – may have contributed to more than 20% of the day’s events in January.

The Canadian public health official, Theresa Tam, noted in a statement that it “emphasizes that partnerships between public health and the general public are still crucial to reducing the rate of infection”.

The current numbers, he warned, put the country on a “recovery path in the next two months”.
