CANADA NEWS: Covid-19 vaccine Canada reviews Pfizer jab for 5-11 year olds

Canada is reviewing the primary presentation we’ve received on the Covid-19 vaccine to be used within the country. the appliance came from Pfizer-BioNTech on Monday, which can be registered for its new vaccine for youngsters aged 5-11.

As of now, the Covid-19 approved emergency use in Canada is for those 12 years old and older.

Pfizer jabs received most of the Covid-19 vaccine given in Canada, in way over 46 million doses. However, doses for youngsters under 12 can not be taken from existing stocks, and can need to be a unique format and delivered in smaller doses.

Health Canada said, “Like all Covid-19 vaccines, the department will prioritize reviews of this post [from Pfizer], while maintaining high scientific standards of safety, efficacy and quality.”

It said it might authorize the utilization of the children’s version of the Pfizer vaccine “if an independent and comprehensive scientific review of all the data included during this submission shows that the advantages of the vaccine outweigh the potential risks during this age group”.

To date, approximately 82% of eligible people in Canada are vaccinated against Covid-19.
