Diet Prada, a fashion veteran with more than two million followers, has named overseas magazine, Vogue, using actress Deepika Padukone as a “foundation” in her April 2019 fashion magazine.
Sharing a series of cover photos, shot by Vogue, Diet Prada revealed how the world-famous magazine used people of color as “props” and “glittering” white privilege.
The document read, “In celebration of global talent, this debate supported ‘this new, universal institution and nowhere at the same time.’ Aside from Vogue’s intentions, it was clear that in the new center, white women were at the center of it.
For the uninitiated, Deepika shared the April 2019 issue of Vogue US with Avenger actress Scarlett Johansson and Korean actress Doona Bae. The story, which celebrated international talent from 14 countries, featured Widow actress Elizabeth Debicki, Baby Driver Actress Eiza Gonzalez and others.
