ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has praised US President-elect Joe Biden and vice-president Camera Harris for winning the 2020 US general election.

“Congratulations to @ JoeBiden & @KamalaHarris. Look forward to President Elect Biden’s International Conference on Democracy and work with him to eradicate illegal tax havens and steal national wealth through corrupt leaders.

Joe Biden will be the 46th president of the US.

Joe Biden defeated US President Donald Trump in the 2020 election after the Democrat won the state of Pennsylvania on Saturday which gave him another 20 college votes, enabling him to cross the 270 needed for 284 votes. Later, he won the Nevada, adding six more to his total, making it 290.

Following the Pennsylvania results, the President-elect issued a statement saying he was “honorable” that the United States had chosen him to lead “our great country”.
