PAKISTAN NEWS: The Nonagenans have the courage of cold weather to vote in the Gilgit Baltistan Election 2020

NAGAR KHAS: An unsuspecting man encountered a very cold weather in northern Pakistan on Sunday to vote in the Gilgit Baltistan 2020 elections.

Sha’aban Ali, a 98-year-old from Nagar in the Nagar region of Gilgit Baltistan, arrived at the Jafarabad 21 polling station despite the cold and travel problems.

Older voters were working on voting in the Gilgit Baltistan 2020 elections, with many in the Diamer Chilas-II constituency also coming to the polls in large numbers to vote.

Earlier in the day, an 80-year-old paralyzed man surprised many by arriving at the polling station using sticks to vote.

Relying on one leg and holding his body with the weight of his crutches, the man told Geo News he had gone out to vote as people in his area were facing problems.

There were no proper roads in his area, he said, adding that health care was needed for an hour for those who chose.

People in northern Pakistan voted in the Gilgit Baltistan 2020 elections after weeks of strong campaigns by the ruling PTI, PML-N, and PPP and other political parties.
