Security officers at the meeting arrested Raymond Abbas and 12 others for online fraud

Raymond Abbas, a celebrity on Nigeria’s Instagram, has been arrested in Dubai on multiple fraud charges.Raymond Abbas, better known as Hushpuppi, was arrested by Dubai police on June 10.

The 38-year-old man has been referred to a public prosecutor in Dubai and is currently being questioned by prosecutors in a part of Bur Dubai.Prosecutors have charged him with “fraudulently obtaining money from others.”

Security officials stormed and arrested Mr. Abbas and 12 others for online fraud against companies and individuals.”They were sending letters from e-mail addresses similar to legal companies, targeting customers of these companies, with the aim of diversifying their payments,” the senior prosecutor said.

Danish crime boss Amir Mekky has also been arrested in Dubai “Preliminary details include the fact that he was part of a gang who allegedly forced cash and vehicles on people. “His statement was taken by the prosecutor but this is just the beginning of the prosecution’s investigation.”

He is wanted on fraud charges in Europe, the United States and Nigeria. Mr Abbas has over 2 million followers on Instagram. He is known for her wealth in social media. He often posts photos with his luxury cars such as Ferrari and Roll Royce and a private jacket.
