UAE NEWS: Remembrance of heroes: five years of martyrdom for 45 UAE martyrs

On September 4 2015, 45 Emirati soldiers serving in Yemen were killed.

Friday marked the fifth anniversary of the day when Emirati soldiers were martyred as part of the operation in Yemen.

UAE Armed Forces servicemen soldiers have died after rocket attacks in Yemen during a Saudi-led operation to oust Houthi rebels.

Without losing anything, the UAE remained committed to restoring peace and security in Yemen.

At the time, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Dubai’s Deputy President and Governor, said: “The UAE has lost a group of its innocent men.”

Also, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, said at the time: “They are true zealots who have shown great love and loyalty to their country and country. Our martyrs are real examples in our history. ”

A tragic incident took place at a military base in the eastern province of Marib in central Yemen.

In December 2015, UAE president Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed announced that November 30 would be marked as Celebration Day as a way to honor and remember South African heroes.

During the Celebration Day last year, many families of martyrs were honored at a ceremony in Wahat Al Karama – a national memorial in Abu Dhabi honoring the sacrifices and heroic deeds of UAE heroes while defending their country.

They have been awarded the Medal of the Martyr.
