His Majesty King Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, discussed good relations between the two countries by telephone on Tuesday.
Sheikh Mohamed and Pompeo also reviewed ways to promote relations at all levels for the betterment of the two countries.
During the strike, they faced many regional and international issues of mutual interest, most notably the peace agreement between the UAE and Israel and the prospect of strengthening the foundations of peace and stability in the region.
Sheikh Mohamed and the US Secretary of State have discussed recent developments in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Middle East region, the two countries’ efforts to fight together against Covid-19 outbreak and the most important steps to reduce the effects of the epidemic.
Later on Tuesday, Pompeo arrived in Bahrain as part of a trip to the Middle East following an agreement between Israel and the UAE to make relations possible.
An agreement reached on the settlement of relations between Israel and the UAE was announced on August 13. Israel and the United States say they are pressuring many Arab countries to follow the draft. Israel’s intelligence minister has spoken of Bahrain as a candidate.
