UAE NEWS: The same pay for men, women in the private sector of the UAE from September 25th

From tomorrow, September 25, women’s wages in the private sector should be equal to those of men, as the new law comes into force.

The President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has issued Federal Law No. 6 of 2020, where the first article states that women and men must have equal pay for equal work or employment.

The new law amends Article 32 of Federal Law No. 8 of 1980 on labor relations. Aimed at empowering women, the policy is expected to encourage more women to join the private sector.

Apart from being at the forefront of promoting women’s empowerment in the region, it has been ranked first in the world when it comes to women’s representation in parliament.
