LONDON – Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s senior adviser Dominic Cummings will remain in office until mid-December, with another senior aide acting caretaker manager, Johnson’s office said on Friday.
Cummings had been pictured stepping out of Johnson Downing Street’s office with a coffin in his hands, and several local shops had reported he had resigned immediately. Communications Director Lee Cain will also remain in office until mid-December.
“The Prime Minister today called on Sir Edward Lister to take up the post of acting chief of staff pending a full-time appointment,” a Downing Street spokesman said.
