LONDON – British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is taking legal action to protect the peace of Northern Ireland, his spokesman said on Thursday after Democratic Alliance presidential candidate Joe Biden warned the United Kingdom.
Asked about Biden’s response, the spokesman said: “The Prime Minister has made it clear that we are taking steps to ensure that the Belfast Accords are adhered to in all cases and any serious failures do not start unintentionally.”
“We will continue to liaise with our U.S. partners to ensure that our position is understood.”
