US NEWS: Joe Biden appoints Vedant Patel as assistant secretary of state at the White House

Patel is a senior spokesman for Biden’s first starting committee and has been part of the Biden campaign where he served as regional communications director. During Biden’s main campaign, Patel served as communications director for Nevada and the West.

Joe Biden has appointed Indian-American Vedant Patel as assistant journalist as the United States president-elect announces the names of other media and members of the White House.

Patel is a senior spokesman for Biden’s first opening committee and has been part of the Biden campaign where he served as regional communications director. During Biden’s main campaign, Patel served as communications director for Nevada and the West.

Born in the Indian state of Gujarat and raised in California, Patel graduated from the University of California-Riverside and the University of Florida. He is the third Indian-American member of the White House media group after Priya Singh and Raj Shah.
