WASHINGTON, March 7 – The U.S. House of Representatives will vote soon Tuesday on legislation that seeks to ban the importation of Russian energy products and suspend normal trade relations with Russia, an ANC aide.
The text of the proposal is expected later on Monday, the aide said. A group of key lawmakers who write taxes and trade said in a joint statement that they had “agreed on a legal way to ban the sale of energy products from Russia.”
It will also give President Joe Biden the authority to raise prices on goods from Russia and Belarus and will require a U.S. Trade Representative. Katherine Tai to demand the suspension of Russia’s participation in the World Trade Organization.
