US NEWS: US coronavirus cases are also rising due to Delta

The Covid-19 curve in the US is rising again after months of decline, with the number of new cases per day doubling in the past three weeks, driven by Delta rapidly distributing coronavirus variants, remaining vaccine rates, and the July 4 Freedom Day rallies.

Confirmed diseases rose to about 23,600 a day on Monday, from 11,300 on June 23, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. All but two counties – Maine and South Dakota – have reported an increase in cases in the past two weeks.

The Department of Health reported 54,517 new cases and 991 Covid-related deaths on Wednesday, the number of confirmed cases since the epidemic began at more than 2.6 million and the confirmed death toll was more than 69,000. Last month, daily lawsuits involved about 8,000.
