The Covid-19 curve in the US is rising again after months of decline, with the number of new cases per day doubling in the past three weeks, driven by Delta rapidly distributing coronavirus variants, remaining vaccine rates, and the July 4 Freedom Day rallies.
Confirmed diseases rose to about 23,600 a day on Monday, from 11,300 on June 23, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. All but two counties – Maine and South Dakota – have reported an increase in cases in the past two weeks.
Indonesia reported more than 54,000 new cases for the first time on Wednesday, surpassing the recent daily outbreak of diseases in India, whose catastrophic outbreak is declining, and becoming Asia’s hottest new Covid-19. Authorities fear that the Delta variety is now spreading from the islands of Java and Bali, where the outbreak erupted with small closures that closed places of worship, shopping malls, parks, and restaurants.
The Department of Health reported 54,517 new cases and 991 Covid-related deaths on Wednesday, the number of confirmed cases since the epidemic began at more than 2.6 million and the confirmed death toll was more than 69,000. Last month, daily lawsuits involved about 8,000.
Spanish Court: Lockdown unconstitutional
The Spanish constitutional court ruled on Wednesday that the strict order to shut down homes in the state of emergency was unconstitutional. The court’s decision was in response to a lawsuit filed by the Vox faction. It was a decision to separate according to a brief statement issued by the court.
Masks are needed in London
The UK is looking at a package of integrated masks in closed areas, as a protection against the spread of the virus, after London mayor Sadiq Khan said it would remain a mandatory requirement for public transport in the city. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson previously said face masks would no longer be a legal requirement in England from next Monday.
French star Lea Seydoux was forced out of the ongoing Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday after coming down with Covid-19 despite being completely vaccinated against the disease. The famous actress in three films ran for the prestigious Palme d’Or award ceremony.
